REVIEW: ACSEN Pore Control Mask - Your miracle for acne-prone skin delivered by TROIAREUKE

Don’t you sometimes get the feeling, that something’s bubbling underneath your skin, just waiting to erupt all over your face, leaving you with ghastly pimples? Your skin feels tender and tight, hot to the touch and you just know that you’ll wake up tomorrow with a new friend called Mr. Zit on your face.

Ugh, we’ve all been there, and we’ve all been desperate for a waterproof solution so that Mr. Zit doesn’t even try to make an appearance on your face.

Luckily, the ACSEN Pore Control Mask unites four key ingredients in one product to help fight acne prone skin and large pores - namely Kaolin, Gum Tree extract, Grapefruit Extract and Calcium.

Now you can say bye-bye to all those wanna-be breakouts, because the ACSEN Pore Control Mask will take care of them for you overnight.

The product

The ACSEN Pore Control Mask comes in a sleek white tube, it’s not too big nor too small. Because you never know when those skin demons may try to invade your skin again, the size of the tube is just perfect to travel with.

What I really like about this product is how a small dollop of it gets you veeeery far in your application. You don’t need much to cover your entire face with a thin even layer of product.
Oh god, I need to talk about the scent of this heavenly product! It smells so subtle of freshly washed laundry and of dewy flowers that it had me convinced even before I tried it. Very professional blogger at work here, you see.
As it contains kaolin clay, the paste is white and also dries very fast on your skin. Useful for all you sleepy heads out there. (Yes, I’ve fallen asleep with the mask on my face before. Don’t judge.)

The magical quartet to fight your acne one step at a time.

First ingredient: Kaolin. What magnificent things does Kaolin do for your face?

Kaolin Clay is very fine and smooth. It’s basically like a vacuum cleaner for your skin, as it naturally possess absorption properties. Kaolin clay sucks up oils, sebum, dirt and all that other grime that would otherwise clog your pores and cause you to break out. As it is the mildest of all clays, it is perfect for acne-prone skin, red or irritated skin. Also, even though it’s a mild clay, it also comes with a slight abrasive texture to scrounge off dead skin cells leaving you with smooth and even glowy skin.

Nr. 2 to the party: Gum Tree Extract. What is koala food doing in my mask?

Gum Tree is just another name for many species of the Eucalyptus family, doesn’t have a lot to do with gum. If you’ve ever had a cold chances are you know exactly what Eucalyptus smells like - cool, kinda minty, refreshing and best of all it opens your sinuses. Eucalyptus possesses strong antiseptic properties as well as antibacterial qualities which makes it perfect for acne prone skin. Applied to the skin it dries up those nasty pus-filled pimples and blemishes with no problem. As I’ve said before it also wins by possessing antibacterial qualities meaning that it prevents breakouts and if breakouts occur, they will be gone in a heartbeat.

Third superstar: Calcium. Not only good for your bones!

Calcium is an alkaline earth metal and very abundant on our planet. It comes as no surprise that it’s also the fifth most abundant element in our bodies, mostly stored in our bones and teeth.

However, when included in your skin care routine, it can do many good things for your skin. It plays an important role in the regulation of your protective lipid barrier, in cell renewal and cell turnover. It makes your skin more resilient towards irregularities as well.
If you suffer from dry and flaky skin, you can include calcium in your routine to renew your skin in no time.

Last but not least: Grapefruit extract!

I’ve talked about citrus fruits before and how much I like them for my skin and my tea so let me just tell you a bit more about grapefruits. Grapefruit lowers your blood pressure meaning it elevates redness and any swollen cysts. Great isn’t it? Bye-bye red enraged pimple!

It also acts in an antimicrobial way to kill off even more skin-demons. Maybe you’ve noticed that grapefruits are a citrus fruit, thus they contain a whole lot of vitamin c which is, as we know, acting as an antioxidant to keep your skin youthful and fresh. Ah and, grapefruits also contain a great deal of vitamin a which plays a crucial part in healthy skin. And they are really tasty too!

How to treat your skin with this miraculous skin mask

As mentioned, a lil goes a looong way. Just spread the ACSEN Pore Control Mask evenly on your skin, let it dry (It’ll feel nice and cooling, just how I love it). It may tuck a lil on your skin here and there when drying but that’s nothing to worry you! It dries quickly, so after 5-8 minutes it can be washed down again. My preferred cleaning-up method is using a face cloth I’ve run under warm water to just gently rub it off my face. You can however just use plain water to do so.

Also, I don’t use it on my whole face everytime I slather it on. I usually just use it on my problem zones to calm my angry skin-demons. Low and behold, it only takes 5 minutes to calm an angry zit, who would've guessed. I love this mask, have I told you this already?

Why do I love this product so much?

I have to talk about it again, my skin condition. It makes my skin so angry sometimes. As you may know, hair grows in cycles, and sometimes a lot of hair wants to grow on my face all at once, which causes literally traffic jams on my neck and chin area. Ingrown hairs, pimples, inflammation, pain, despair, ugh. Those are the really bad days, on those days not even the COSRX Propolis Light Ampule manages to bring order to my skin. But I know I can fall back into the calming arms of the ACSEN Pore Control Mask, it always helped me tame the angriest inflammations and pimples. In combination with the COSRX Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser it even prevents ingrown hairs for me.
Ah and of course, I love love love the scent this lovely mask spreads whenever it’s applied.

Thank you for this review. My go-to clay mask for hormonal breakouts is the Innisfree volcano clay mask so I never really bothered about other masks. Didn’t know that kaolin was one of the finest clays and the additional calcium sounds great. I might give this a try once I run out of my Innisfree mask.

Brrr… It’s cold outside and the first snowflakes already fell. Time for hot cocoa and a cozy sweater. But don’t forget about your skin! In the colder seasons your skin needs some extra tender love and care because who likes to be dried out by the cold everyday? Dry air and freezing temperatures take a toll on your skin. Luckily in summer, the bees have been working hard to produce sweet sweet honey and also propolis - the main ingredient in the product I’ll present to you in this review.
